Wie sicher ist Homöopathie?
Bislang wurden 12 Hauptstudien zur Sicherheit homöopathischer Arzneimittel durchgeführt, von denen 11 die Homöopathie als risikoarme Intervention einstuften: ein Leitartikel2, ein Audit3, eine prospektive Studie4, eine Querschnittsstudie5, ein Organisationsbericht6 und eine Literaturübersicht11 kamen alle zu dem Schluss, dass Homöopathie „sicher” ist. Darüber hinaus kommen fünf von sechs systematischen Übersichten (die eine strenge Analyse mehrerer Studien enthalten) zu dem Schluss, dass homöopathische Behandlungen relativ sicher sind, und beschreiben die unerwünschten Wirkungen als leicht bis mittelschwer und vorübergehend1,7,9,10,12. Die sechste systematische Übersichtsarbeit8 ist die einzige veröffentlichte Arbeit, die zu einer negativen Schlussfolgerung kommt, und sich deutlich von den anderen Übersichtsarbeiten unterscheidet; dies wird allgemein als Folge einer fehlerhaften Methodik angesehen.13,14,15,16
Die jüngste systematische Überprüfung und Meta-Analyse zur Bewertung der Sicherheit homöopathischer Arzneimittel12 kam zu dem Schluss:
“…der Anteil der Patienten, die unerwünschte Wirkungen erlebten, war bei Patienten, die konventionelle Medizin und Kräuter erhielten, signifikant höher als bei Patienten, die homöopathische Mittel erhielten.“
