What can homeopathy treat?
While some people are concerned with the theoretical question of how homeopathic medicines work, for others the more important question is, ‘What conditions can homeopathy treat?’
To make informed decisions about healthcare, both patients and healthcare providers need to know whether homeopathy can help with specific medical conditions.
HRI is supporting the following projects looking at areas where homeopathy could be of particular value:
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in children (ADHD)
This clinical trial aims to evaluate the impact of giving children with ADHD homeopathic treatment alongside standard conventional care.
Multiple research methods are being combined to evaluate the impact of providing homeopathic treatment in addition to usual care for patients with self-reported depression.
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
A one year ‘prospective service evaluation’ would track the progress of patients being given individualised treatment for IBS by a professional homeopath at Barnsley Hospital.
This randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial aims to find out whether the homeopathic medicine Symphytum can speed up bone healing.
