HRI response to seriously flawed safety study published24 April 2013
In November 2012, the article ‘Adverse effects of homeopathy: a systematic review of published case reports and case series’, co-authored by Prof Edzard Ernst, was published in the International Journal of Clinical Practice (IJCP). This study was of such poor quality and contained such serious errors that HRI felt it necessary to write a letter to the Editor expressing our grave concerns about the lack of reliability of the authors’ findings and requesting a retraction of the article. This letter has recently been published in IJCP, along with supplementary information substantiating our specific criticisms of this paper. As the letter and supplementary information are open access publications they can be circulated freely without breach of copyright.
