Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) i.e. bacteria becoming resistant to antibiotic treatment, is a major concern in modern health care driven partly by excessive and inappropriate use of antibiotics. This global challenge has resulted in the development of action plans, such as the “European One Health Action Plan against AMR”, in which the EU asks, amongst other actions, for more research on new treatments which could help to reduce the use of antibiotics. Several studies have shown that homeopathy could have a useful role to play in this field.
