The 5th International Congress on Complementary Research (ICCMR) recently held in Troms\u00f8, Norway attracted over 400 CAM researchers. There were over a dozen presentations covering a wide range of different types of homeopathy research \u2013 basic, clinical and methodological research into the effects of both homeopathic remedies and homeopathic practitioners.<\/p>\n
Sarah Brien gave five presentations reporting the results of her extensive mixed methods clinical research into the effects of homeopathic remedies and homeopaths in the field of rheumatoid arthritis. Stephan Baumgartner gave two presentations: \u2018Positioning effects in a homeopathic basic research system: evidence for cross-contamination?\u2019 and \u2018Quantitative meta-analyses of homeopathic interventions for specified medical conditions \u2013 a systematic assessment\u2019. Other presentations included Rainer L\u00fcdtke\u2019s \u2018Placebo effects in homeopathic and conventional drugs\u2019, Jim Rogers\u2019 \u2018Systematic review of homeopathic pathogenetic trials\u2019, Tim Jaeger\u2019s \u2018Comparative study of two bioassays with weakened duckweed and yeast treated with homeopathic preparations\u2019, Anne Majumder\u2019s \u2018Exploring homeopathic practitioners perspectives on underlying theory and practice: Views on treating chronic diseases\u2019 and Clare Relton\u2019s methodological research into pragmatic clinical trial design, the \u2018Cohort multiple RCT design’.<\/p>\n
